A European style Black Lager, halfway between a German Schwarzbier and a Czech Cerny Pivo. Smooth and malty with coffee and raisin flavours. For smoothness, the black malt is prepared separately in a cold water infusion which is added to the kettle.
Malts:Pale, Munich, dark crystal, and black malts
Hopping:22 IBU, German Magnum and Hallertau
Recommended yeast:Saflager S23, Safale S-04 can be used for a sweeter finish.
Modifications:Brew undiluted to enhance the flavour. No dry hops needed.
